Refers to the process of planning, coordinating, and executing the movement and storage of goods and resources from one location to another. It involves managing the flow of goods, information, and resources between suppliers, manufacturers, distributors, retailers and consumers, to optimize efficiency, reduce costs and improve the overall customer experience.
It includes a wide range of activities such as transportation, warehousing, inventory management, order fulfillment, and reverse logistics (i.e., handling returns and exchanges). It also involves coordinating with various stakeholders such as carriers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, and other service providers to ensure that goods are delivered on time and in good condition.
